Stoicheia is series of imaginary, non-spatial maps, each depicting a historical narrative. The project follows four events in which a private individual introduces an invasive species to a new territory: as a pet, a souvenir, a commercial venture, or a personal passion.
The animal escapes, multiplies and spreads, forcibly embedding itself within a natural fabric that is not its own, and thus destabilizes thousands of years of ecological balance. Through these maps, the project frames the phenomenon of invasive species as human, a singular event that becomes a disturbance and ruptures the continuum of natural development.
